I'm an avid mountain biker and ride nearly daily in the southern California sun. Temps often reach triple digits and a hydration pack is not optional. You must have one. Trouble is, most suck. They're heavy, bulky and have very little room left for other important gear. This pack does not include a hydration bladder but it is made to hold one up to 100 ounces. Plus, I need all day comfort with a long days worth of safety, survival, medical and communication gear on my back.What makes this pack great is the ease of installing and removing a hydration bladder. It's dead simple - way better than what the major brand offers and much more affordable. Plenty of room is left for extra gear. For me, it's an air pump, spare tubes, patch kits, multi tool, first aid kit, food, extra water bottles, maps, rescue whistle... That's just the essentials. This pack was the perfect size for my daily walk to class, and had brilliantly laid out compartments, and a great framing system for such a small pack. It felt really durable, and even fit my height well (6'4", many packs are too short for my torso) However, the mesh on the shoulder straps would rub on itself, making the most annoying sound whenever I would make the slightest movement. I know this sounds like a small thing, but after trying it out for a couple of days, it started driving me crazy. Every else about it should lead to a perfect five stars, but I ended up returning it. |
